Le Bagatae Dance and Drum founder comes to Joe’s one-day only to teach a dance workshop for adults and children that includes live drumming
Sun, Jun. 26, 2016 at 6:30 pm, master dancer, drummer, and choreographer Moustapha Bangoura imparts his decades of dance experiences to the community in a West African Dance Workshop at Joe’s Movement Emporium. Admission is open to all dancers at $15 per adult and $10 per child age 10 and under. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in for this 2 hour-long immersive experience.
About Moustapha Bangoura
Moustapha is a 22 year veteran of the largest and most celebrated dance compabny from the continent of Africa- Les Ballets Africains. He is the internationally acclaimed master dancer, drummer and choreographer and has traveled the globe bring the colorful musical performance traditions of his homeland to audiences worldwide. Moustapha founded LE BAGATAE DANCE AND DRUM, an authorized dance and drum school in Guinea. He was the Associate Artistic Director for Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago from 2000-2005. In 2006 he established Won Tan Nara/Ballet Guinean of France in Europe. He is presently the Artistic Director with Le Bagatae Dance and Drum Ensemble and choreographer for Legends of West Africa.
