About Think Before You Holla

“Although Think Before You Holla first came to life in June 2014, it’s really taken a fuller shape over the last nine months,” says Reynolds. “I’ve devised the piece with eight incredible women; it’s been difficult and taxing to dive into the wide variety of street harassment stories we’ve collected from friends, family, and a few strangers and intertwine them with the upsetting statistics of what street harassment can lead to, but the understanding that what we’re doing will have a strong foothold in the fight against street harassment helps us to push forward.”

“By examining the ‘why’ around a harasser’s behavior, we hope to to empower bystanders to become allies in this assault on women’s emotional well-being,” says Ally’s Founding and Producing Artistic Director, Ty Hallmark. “Sadly, as we’ve seen in the last month, street harassment can sometimes end violently, which is why this is a particularly important conversation to have right now.”
